Why I Value A Charlotte Mason Philosophy

Charlotte Mason predominantly believed in the more than-all 'training' of a kid, educating the entire kid, and how to positively parent kids. Nonetheless, the principal objective that she preferred to achieve...is to by no means stray far from spiritual matters. This is what gave her approach its life, hope and goal. Miss Mason taught us that we, as educators of our youngsters, want to adhere to the Holy Spirit's top in all the we do, say, hear and teach. Charlotte Mason as soon as stated that "such a recognition of the function of the Holy Spirit as the educator of mankind, in issues intellectual as nicely as items moral and spiritual, provides us new thoughts of God, new hopes of Heaven, a sense of harmony in our efforts and of acceptance of all that we are."

Charlotte Mason lived in a time throughout the late 1800s once youngsters had been not actually deemed as 'entire men and women." Kids had been a lot more accepted if they had been observed, but not heard. They had been taught to speak only as soon as spoken to. They had no a lot more rights than a stray dog could have. Poor young children have been deemed an even decrease class than that.

I believe that this was incredibly saddening to her. Miss Mason believed that youngsters had been specific, true persons, with their personal thoughts and feelings, and whom had been worthy of getting heard from. She herself preferred to hear what these thoughts could be. To teach them that there is certainly a living God who created them. That this living God does not look at them to be worthless blunders.

This is what motivated Charlotte Mason to be the person she preferred and succeeded in getting. Her passion for the Lord, life, and kids. This is what prompted the philosophy that she strived for in the course of her lifetime. What superior explanation to base your philosophy of education on, than this?
